Operation Encompass
At our school, we are part of Operation Encompass. This is a joint partnership between police and education, designed to enable schools to offer immediate support to children experiencing domestic abuse.
If the police attend a domestic abuse incident where a child is present or involved, they will notify the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) before the start of the next school day.
This sharing of information enables appropriate support to be given, dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child, ensuring that no child has to face the aftermath of a difficult situation alone.
