Remote Learning
When will Remote Learning be provided?
Remote education will be provided in the event of a full or partial school closure or for pupils who are unable to attend school for medical reasons but are well enough to learn from home.
If there is a planned school closure, remote learning will be provided from the first day of closure. If the closure is unplanned, full learning will be provided from day 2, and on day one, a skeleton programme of learning will be provided (any work already set on Google Classroom, reading, online learning platforms for which children can log in remotely)
What to expect from remote learning
EYFS: A Zoom or Google Meet session followed by a range of links to activities including phonics videos
Key Stage 1: Approximately 3 hours of remote learning per day, including a Zoom or Google Meet session, phonics and maths and at least one other subject, plus suggestions for additional activities
Key Stage 2: Approximately 3-4 hours of remote learning per day, including reading, maths and 2 other subjects, plus additional links to other activities or ideas for things to do away from the screen.
Accessing remote learning
For EYFS and KS1 there will be an online meeting for children which will introduce their learning. Phonics will be accessed via links shared with parents. Children already have login details for other apps and relevant sites. Some activities will be away from the screen.
For KS2, learning will be set via Google Classroom, for which children have login details.
If you need access to a device, please contact the school office.
Support for pupils with SEND
For pupils accessing the Hub, individual learning will be shared with parents. For pupils in KS1 and KS2 with an ISP, learning will be personalised to make it accessible.
Safeguarding and Online Safety
Our online safety policy outlines the steps we take to ensure safe learning online. We would encourage all pupils to be supervised while accessing the internet. Additional online safety advice is available from the NSPCC website or the National College
